Thanksgiving and Autumn pictures

My mom informed me a few weeks ago that it was past time for Matt and I to host a family get together, so We're having Thanksgiving at our house next week. I'm a little nervous b/c I've never made a turkey by myself. I think I may do it the day ahead to make things less crazy in the kitchen on Thursday.... We'll see. I think there'll be 15 of us. An aunt and uncle and their 6 children aren't going to be able to make it, so it's a little smaller than our usual gatherings.

So last week I realized it would be really fun to decorate a little for Thanksgiving. Problem: Only about $5 to spend. Matt reminded me my brother works at a gourd pumpkin farm. My brother came to the rescue! Since the season was over he said he could pick the last of the gourds and little jack pumpkins for me for free. Sweet brother! :) So late last night I made a few arrangements with them, and I'm rather pleased w/ how it turned out.

I was going thru my camera today and found these pictures I took at Palasaides Park for my photography class. I took these probably a month ago now. I love Autumn. I'm sad it's coming to an end.

My good lookin' husband. :)

Jewelry

Well, I finally took the plunge and got an Etsy page for my handmade jewelry. I'm also going to be selling it at Roaster's Coffee House in CR. I'm glad to finally have an outlet for my jewelry! Now I won't have 50+ pairs of earrings hanging around my house. :)

Here's some pictures of some recent items I have for sale:

Here's the link to my Etsy page if you want to see some of my other stuff.

Getting started

Welcome to my blog. I love decorating, gardening, cooking, baking, organizing, and spending time with family and friends. So... my blog will be a compilation of all these interests and how I pursue them. I guess I'll start with a few pictures. They're the best part anyways, right?

Here's a before picture of my living room. Pretty bare. My husband had some lawn chairs in there, but after we got married I decided they should move to the garage. :o)
Here's the After. That chalkboard is not by the couch any more though...

These are some cinnamon rolls I made this week.

And some braided bread

And some tomatoes from my garden. This year was my rookie attempt.

I am not super tech savvy, so I'm pretty excited I actually uploaded these pictures and got started. I better stop while I'm ahead.
